Cleaning of Air Coolers
Refrigeration Technology
Measure Goal
The goal is to standardize the calculation of electricity savings that are triggered by cleaning air coolers to optimize the evaporation temperature.
Symbols, Terms and Units
| Symbol | Description | Unit |
|---|---|---|
ΔE | annual electricity savings | kWh/a |
ΔEeco | cumulative electricity savings | kWh |
Pel | electrical power consumption | kW |
ΔTV | evaporation temperature difference | K |
hB | annual operating hours | h/a |
Ns | standard effective duration | a |
Calculation Formulas
Annual Electricity Savings
ΔE = Pel × hB × 0.04 × ΔTV
The annual electricity savings result from the electrical power consumption, operating hours and temperature difference (approx. 4% savings per K).
Cumulative Electricity Savings
ΔEeco = ΔE × Ns
The cumulative electricity savings result from the annual savings multiplied by the standard effective duration.
